Welcome!

First United Methodist Church has been serving Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley since 1875. Our current location on Colorado and Oakland consists of close to 100,000 square feet of historic worship and meeting space. First United Methodist Church has always emphasized programming to meet the needs of a wide variety of children, youth and adults. The congregation is currently 800 adult members strong, with a large number of constituents, including over 150 children and youth. In the United Methodist tradition, we represent a wide variety of theological opinions and needs for spiritual formation. We welcome all persons to this community of faith, and continually strive to create meaningful opportunities for growth and service.

Interested in Visiting?
We worship Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. You can expect 250 people in our Sanctuary, so you won't be conspicuous but you will probably be noticed and greeted. We often invite visitors to introduce themselves, but everyone is invited to participate as fully as is comfortable.

We have a friendly, traditional-type service with a casual and relaxed approach. Our worship hour includes congregational singing and prayers, a children's message, reading of scripture and a sermon. A printed bulletin enables all to join fully in the worship experience.

Our dress ranges from casual to professional. Our Pastors and Choir Members wear robes, but that's so that they are easily identified.
