(5th Sunday in Lent) “On the Fourth Day,”
Rev. Sandra K. Olewine, preaching from Ezekiel 37:1-14 and John 11:1-45
In scripture the fourth day is a metaphor for something that is beyond all hope. It is a moment when we face the reality that whatever is won’t change. It is the time when spirits are crushed and despair overtakes us. But, it is exactly at this moment, that John tells us a remarkable story of new life emerging from the depths of death’s darkness. Might death be a beginning and not just an end?
