Join us for Worship

We Hold Worship Every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

All are welcome to First United Methodist Church Pasadena, an intergenerational, diverse and inclusive congregation. Sunday mornings are central to the life of the church as people of all ages gather in our Sanctuary (and on our YouTube channel), to worship, learn and grow together.

Each week worship is marked by creative and positive liturgy, inspiring and challenging preaching, and dynamic and uplifting music. We worship in ways that are both ancient and modern, steeped in tradition and open to God’s on-going call in the church and in our lives. The congregation is blessed with choirs of all ages, a magnificent pipe organ, and gifted musicians, all which offer music that inspires and lifts of our hearts to God.

Following Time for Young Christians, pre-K through 6th grade students are invited to participate in the children’s education and music program, which includes singing and hand bells, or they are welcome to remain in worship with their parents. For our youngest disciples, nursery care is provided throughout the Sunday events every week.

What to Expect

  • A community of Christians who are loving, welcoming, imperfect and seeking to know God better.
  • The worship service will be somewhat traditional but also comfortable, warm and inviting.
  • Come dressed however you feel comfortable.
  • The Scriptures will be read and explained in ways that help us to grow in our faith and in service.
  • The music will be great. Some traditional hymns, some more contemporary songs and awesome choirs.
  • Children are always welcome! Early in each Sunday service, we invite all children to come up and share a time in the service just for the kids (though we hear the grown-ups like it too!). Following the “Time for Young Christians,” children may remain in the sanctuary and worship with their parents, or gather with other children in our Sunday school. Our nursery is also open throughout the morning. (Learn more about Children's Ministry.)
  • On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate Holy Communion. Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate this meal that reminds us of God’s love for us.
  • Every service has an opportunity to offer back to God a sign of our gratitude. Guests are welcome to participate in the offering, but there is no expectation to do so.
Most importantly, just come as you are to worship. All are welcome! We look forward to meeting you.
