Youth

For youth we provide a safe, inclusive, LGBT+ affirming community to explore faith, make friends, and have lots of fun. We would love for you to join us! Our Sunday evening youth program includes dinner, fellowship, and activities that allow students to explore and deepen their faith by asking questions, serving others, and learning new ways to connect with God. We have lots of opportunities for service throughout the year, as well as an annual summer service trip. For more information contact Rev. Mina Nau-Mahe.

Service

Throughout the year our youth have many opportunities to serve, both in the church and community. A few examples are gardening at GroWorks, running games at Trunk or Treat (which the church hosts for the community), and making sack lunches for our church's food bank clients. Additionally, each summer the youth go on a learning and service trip, which allows them to build community, experience new people and places, expand their worldview, and serve others in need. We fundraise throughout the year so students are able to participate in the trip with little to no financial burden.

Community & Faith Development:

Youth need safe places to build friendships and find a sense of belonging. We facilitate positive community building by eating dinner together each week, sharing experiences like beach bonfires and ski trips, playing games, serving together, and having lots of fun! In this community, youth grow together in faith as we have discussions, ask questions, serve others, and experience life together. In addition to Sunday evening youth group, youth can participate in our Senior High Sunday Study Group, or Confirmation Classes for junior high students or any youth interested in being confirmed. Both of these are on Sunday mornings following Worship, 11 a.m. -  12 p.m.

Music & Drama

We also have many opportunities for youth to participate in music and drama. During the school year we have a youth choir and a youth handbell choir. In the summer many youth from the church and community participate in our Summer Musical Program. For more information about our music and drama programs, please contact the following program leaders:

Safe Gatherings

The United Methodist Church’s Safe Gatherings policies ensure that every church is a safe place where children, youth and elders may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.
Our church staff and persons working with our children and youth have completed a comprehensive background check and training to ensure that our campus and programs are safe for children. Children are our top priority and we make every effort to ensure their physical, emotional and spiritual safety while they are in our care.
